On this page, you can see DNA being methylated after the DNA was replicated. You can click and drag to see the shape before clicking on the buttons below.

Convert the DNA to cartoon mode and rotate the structure.

Zoom in on the DNA base from the red strand that is about to be methylated and is protruding into the yellow protein. Likewise, look at the arginine amino acid (CPK spacefill) that is sticking into the space left empty by the adenine base being methylated by this bacterial enzyme.

Rotate the protein a bit and slab away some of the protein so you can see the full view of the adenine that is about to be methylated. You can also see the blue water that is required to position the adenine in the right place.
