We took the transformed cells with the thyA fitness module and plated them on just Ampicillin plates. This was to mitigate having to select for both kanamycin and ampicillin resistance. Only transformed cells were expected to grow and they did in comparison with the negative control plated on amp. The negative control is just the plasmid that carries the kanamycin resistance, so it would have needed kanamycin to grow.
