Conserved hypothetical protein (Megan Reilly) 644030738
Blast
Blast results confirmed that the gene is 100% identical to a sequence within the genome of Halomicrobium mukohataei, and also showed that Halorhabdus utahensis, Burkholderia glumae, Saccharopolyspora erythraea, and Beutenbergia cavernae have sequences that are identical to ones found within this particular conserved hypothetical protein. In particular, Saccharopolyspora erythraea depicted two genes with known function within this sequence (shown below).
Beutenbergia cavernae also contains an identical sequence with known function:
It would be interesting to further research these particular genes and species to determine if in fact H. mukohataei may contain these genes within this conserved hypothetical protein.
